Does Biote UROX really work?

In a double-blind trial, 142 men and women over age 18 were monitored for up to 8 weeks, with 73 randomly assigned to receive a placebo and 69 to receive Biote UROX+.  After 4 weeks, the UROX+ group had statistically fewer daytime bathroom visits, compared to the placebo group.

At 8 weeks, the Biote UROX+ group needed 33% fewer daytime visits, 46% fewer nighttime visits, and reported 61% less daytime urgency, all statistically superior to taking the placebo.

How does it work?

Biote UROX+ was developed in Australia more than 20 years ago, and is a patented combination of three herbals — Horsetail, Linera and Cravetox. This proprietary blend is believed to work mainly by improving the tone of the bladder and pelvic floor muscles.

The stem of horsetail (Equisetvum arvense) has been a traditional medicine in numerous countries since ancient times.  It contains s variety of beneficial substances, but is unique among herbals for its high content of silicon, a mineral linked to collagen integrity in humans.

Collagen is essential for building the bladder’s connective tissue architecture, which facilitates the proper relaxation and contraction of the bladder muscles and helps maintain the “pelvic floor” zone in which the bladder is housed.  Biote UROX+ contains an extra allowance of horsetail, to provide additional silicon for its bladder benefits.

Lindera aggregata root bas been a mainstay for bladder and kidney support in Chinese and Japanese traditional medicine for hundreds of years.  In studies with mice it improved the function of the bladder detrusor muscle, the major control for voiding of the bladder contents.

The three-leaf caper (Cratava nurvala) has been prized in India for is versatile healing properties since at least 800 BC.  The stem bark has long been prized for its support of bladder and kidney health, and also supports prostate health.  The Cratevox preparation in Biote UROX+ also likely pr0motes heathy bladder muscle tone.
