What is XYMOGEN B Activ?
Xymogen B Activ contains a comprehensive range of vitamins supporting adrenal and neurological functions. It features activated forms of vitamins B2, B6, and B12 and benfotiamine, a fat-soluble and more biologically active form of thiamine. Additionally, it includes folate as Quatrefolic®, which has been proven to offer greater stability, solubility, and bioavailability compared to calcium salt forms of 5-MTHF.
Water-soluble B vitamins are absorbed in the small intestine and then transported to the liver, where they are converted into their active coenzyme forms. B Activ includes vitamins B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B6 (pyridoxine), and B12 (methylcobalamin) in their physiologically active forms, making them easier to absorb and ready for use. Folate is provided as 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF), which bypasses certain metabolic steps necessary for folate bioactivity.
What are the benefits?
The water-soluble B vitamins in Xymogen B Activ are absorbed in the small intestine and then transported to the liver, where they are converted into their active coenzyme forms. B Activ includes vitamins B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B6 (pyridoxine), and B12 (methylcobalamin), all in their physiologically active forms, which makes them easier to absorb. Research indicates that folic acid and 5-MTHF have equivalent bioavailability, and that taking large doses of folic acid can “force” its conversion to the more active form. However, 5-MTHF may be the preferred option for replenishing folate, particularly for individuals with digestive challenges or genetic variations affecting folate metabolism.
